Marriott Explore is an associate travel benefit, not a public discount code. Marriott says associates at Marriott-managed hotels and locations, together with eligible immediate family members, can use Explore. Associates can also add eligible friends and family through the programme's verified process. Payment to a third party is not, by itself, evidence that a traveller is authorised. What is MMP?
MMP is one of the rate labels shown inside Marriott's verified Explore experience. The key issue is not possession of a code: it is whether Marriott recognises the traveller's current relationship and displays the rate in that verified account. Marriott's current digital flow uses one-time eligibility verification, a badge in the Bonvoy app and a special-rates section showing the rates that person may book.
Availability and price are not guaranteed
Explore inventory is controlled by property and date. A rate can disappear, return or be unavailable for an entire stay. Compare the displayed Explore rate with a public refundable rate for the same room, dates, occupancy, taxes and cancellation terms. Do not rely on a percentage-saving promise that was calculated from a different date or room type.
Authorisation matters at booking and arrival
Marriott warns that an unauthorised Corporate or SET code can be changed to the Best Available Rate at check-in. A properly verified Explore account reduces documentation friction, but it does not turn an ineligible reservation into an eligible one. Review the reservation's rate details and ensure the guest, account and payment information are accurate. Marriott code-eligibility guidance
Points and elite-night credit depend on the rate
Do not assume every discounted stay earns Bonvoy points or Elite Night Credits. Marriott ties those outcomes to qualifying rates and official booking channels, with programme and brand exceptions. Check the rate details before paying. Marriott qualifying-rate guidance
Before using a third-party service
Ask for the exact eligibility basis, whose Marriott account will show the verified relationship, what happens if Marriott does not recognise it, and the written refund terms. LuxuryAscent Support can explain a seller-advertised service, but only Marriott can determine Explore eligibility and honour a rate under its rules.
Frequently asked questions
Can anyone use Marriott MMP?
No. Marriott presents Explore as an associate benefit for eligible associates and immediate family, with friends and family added through the verified associate process.
Does an MMP code prove eligibility?
No. Marriott uses verified eligibility in the Bonvoy app, and it warns that unauthorised code use may be repriced at check-in.
Does every Explore stay earn Bonvoy points and elite nights?
Do not assume so. Earning depends on whether the booked rate is qualifying under Marriott's current programme and brand rules.
