Marriott's current Explore experience verifies eligibility digitally. After an eligible user registers, the Bonvoy app can show a digital badge and a verified special-rates section. This replaces much of the old paper-form friction, but it does not create a public route to buy eligibility. Marriott's Explore overview

What digital verification changes

An eligible associate verifies the relationship through Marriott's system. The app then displays the Explore rates that account is eligible to book, including rate labels such as MMP or MMF where applicable. Marriott says a verified user does not need additional eligibility documentation at check-in under this new experience.

What digital verification does not change

It does not make a shared code sufficient, guarantee inventory, or prove that a reseller can create an authorised relationship. The traveller should be able to see the verification and eligible rates in their own appropriate Marriott experience before relying on a reservation.

A safe booking check

  1. Confirm that Marriott shows the eligibility badge and relevant special rate.
  2. Search and book through an official Marriott channel.
  3. Read the rate details for cancellation, occupancy and earning rules.
  4. Keep the reservation name consistent with the eligible traveller's details.
  5. Recheck the reservation before the cancellation deadline.

If a rate is accessed only by entering a code and Marriott does not show the underlying eligibility, stop and verify it. Marriott warns that unauthorised Corporate or SET code use can be repriced at check-in. Marriott code guidance

What to ask a seller

Ask who establishes the relationship, where it will appear in Marriott, whether the account remains under your control, and what written remedy applies if verification never appears. A promised linking time is a seller statement, not a Marriott programme rule.

Frequently asked questions

Does Marriott Explore still rely on paper forms?

Marriott describes a digital verification experience with an in-app badge and eligible special rates, reducing the need for extra eligibility documents at check-in.

Marriott's public guidance does not establish that. Eligibility must be validly verified through Marriott's authorised Explore process.

Does digital verification guarantee rate availability?

No. It confirms eligibility, while property- and date-specific Explore inventory can still be unavailable.
